FIRST ROBOTICS VISION

The FIRST mission is to show students of every age that science, technology, and problem-solving are not only fun and rewarding, but are proven paths to successful careers and a bright future for us all. Founder Dean Kamen invites you to get behind FIRST, too.

"To transform our culture by creating a world where science and technology are celebrated and where young people dream of becoming science and technology leaders."

 –  Dean Kamen, Founder

FIRST ROBOTICS MISSION

Our mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.

FIRST ROBOTICS IMPACT

FIRST kids are significantly more likely to attend college, major in science or engineering, and be outstanding future employees and citizens. FIRST is about changing our culture… for the better. Join us in our quest to spread the word.

FIRST ROBOTICS EVENTS

A unique melding of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) principles and the excitement of competition makes FIRST the ultimate Sport for the Mind™. Visit an event near you and watch as teams showcase the results of weeks of intense preparation and compete in thrilling robot matches.
